Our Work
Economic Empowerment
The Economic Empowerment program of Kairos Foundation for Women and Girls helps women and young women gain skills, start small businesses and build sustainable livelihoods.
Through trainings, small start‑up support and mentoring, we support women to move from dependence and vulnerability to confidence, income and leadership in their communities.
What this program does
Skills training
Practical trainings in trades such as tailoring, hairdressing, catering, digital skills and other income‑generating skills based on community needs.
Start‑up support
Small grants, tools or starter kits to help women turn their new skills into real businesses and cooperative groups.
Micro loans, savings and mnentoring
Grant flexible loans, support to form savings groups and business mentoring so women can manage money, grow their ventures and plan for the future.
Equipping women with practical skills
Trainings are designed to be hands‑on and relevant, allowing participants to practice and ask questions in a supportive environment. Many women are learning a marketable skill for the first time.
Sessions also include modules on customer service, pricing and basic record‑keeping so women can confidently run small businesses after graduation.
From training to real businesses
After completing trainings, selected women receive starter kits, small grants or tools so they can launch or grow income‑generating activities that fit their context.
Follow‑up visits and mentoring sessions help them troubleshoot challenges, track progress and strengthen their businesses over time.
Kairos Micro Loan Program
The Kairos Micro Loan Program provides small, interest-free or low-interest loans to vulnerable women—especially those recovering from poverty, violence, or displacement—to help them start or expand income-generating activities. The program is designed to remove financial barriers that prevent women from building sustainable livelihoods. Through careful screening, business coaching, and close follow-up, Kairos ensures that each beneficiary uses the loan effectively and grows her income. Women receive mentorship, financial literacy training, and support with savings culture. Repayments are flexible, allowing beneficiaries to reinvest in their businesses while maintaining stability at home. The program empowers women to become economically independent, support their families, and break the cycle of poverty. It strengthens community resilience by creating women-led small businesses and promoting long-term financial security.
