"I am a survivor of Gender-based violence, I felt broken and without hope. When Kairos Foundation found me, they sent my children back to school, they gave me counselling, dignity kits, and taught me my rights. With their support, I joined a skills-training program without paying a dime! When I graduated, Kairos Foundation empowered me with starter kits still free of charge and I started a small business. Later they enrolled me as beneficiary of their micro loan program and gave me a soft loan. Today, I can provide for my family and I no longer live in fear. Kairos restored my dignity and helped me find my voice again. I am grateful, my life has truly changed".

"Before I joined Kairos Foundation’s economic empowerment program, my family and I were living in deep poverty. Kairos trained me in pastry making and gave me a starter kit. They supported us with food when we had nothing to eat. When I fell seriously ill and was close to death, Kairos rushed me to the hospital and paid all the bills. Today, I run my own small pastry business, and from it I can feed my children and take care of my home. Kairos Foundation didn’t just train me, they saved my life and gave my family hope again".

“You kept us alive. We will never forget.”
During Kairos Foundation’s outreach, Joy's family received bags of food. The children ate properly for the first time in days. Joy said the food helped them regain strength and stability while they worked to rebuild their income.
The outreach also connected Joy to Kairos Skill Acquisition Program and she was trained and empowered with starter kit. Today Joy reports that the intervention prevented the family from slipping deeper into crisis and gave them space to recover and plan again.
